The Opportunity
We are currently seeking to recruit a Specification Specialist / Specifier. The jobholder will ensure that MAPEI products and systems are specified by designers, detailers and architects to maximize MAPEI’s profile and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- To identify, develop and manage key specifiers and end user clients (including, but not limited to, private, governmental, municipal, health, hospitality and industrial) as appropriate and to provide support to the sales and business development departments for ongoing contracts when so required.
- To initiate and develop strong relationships with engineers, architects and specifiers addressed by the jobholder's line manager, and to provide support to the sales department for on-going projects when required.
- To produce, in a timely and professional manner, such product proposals, specification clauses, cost estimates and technical documents & drawings as may be required to win, defend or break hostile project specifications which ultimately result in product orders.
- To create standard specification clauses and details and also technical literature that promote the specification and sales of MAPEI products.
- To produce and deliver such technical presentations, seminars and product demonstrations as may be required to assist in the jobholder's and team members' overall work activities.
- To introduce new products and concepts to consultant engineers, architects and client bodies as may be directed by the jobholder's line manager.
- To organize and attend technical seminars, exhibitions as well as social and entertainment functions with a view to developing business relationship. All such events to be pre-approved by the jobholder's line manager.
Candidate Profile
- Advanced degree in a Technical Discipline / Engineer
- Excellent communication in English and local language (written and oral) & interpersonal skills, ideally through exposure to both architects & contractors.
- A proven ability to develop and sustain excellent relationships with senior clients and key stakeholders
- Similar previous experience, 3 to 5 years
- Excellent knowledge of the construction sector
- Good negotiation skills
- Driver's License and car
